Interestingly, Umang Singhar is the nephew of Late Mrs. Jamuna Devi, who herself was a member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly and served as the leader of Opposition and deputy Chief Minister of the state. She was elected as Lok Sabha member from Jhabua. She was also the member of Rajya Sabha from 1978 to 1981.
The 48-year old leader is known for his philanthropist activities since the beginning of his political career.
Over the years, Umang has not just been actively involved into politics, but has been equally devoted towards several volunteering activities & charity as well.
A little above two decades ago, Singhar started out with his political journey at a very young age, by becoming a member of Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress in the year 2001. Later wards, seeing his diligence towards his duties, he was appointed as the Youth Congress District President for Dhar district.
After furnishing his managerial & leadership skills, in 2004, Umang took part in the Loksabha Elections as an INC Candidate. At a very initial stage of his career, Congress high command showed the trust on him and nominated Umang as the Candidate of Dhar Loksabha constituency.
In 2008 Madhya Pradesh Vidhansabha elections, Singhar fought from Gandhwani constituency of Dhar district against Chattarsingh Darbar of BJP and won his first election with a huge margin of over 21000 votes. He became the MLA of Ghandhwani Constituency & there has been no turning back after that for him.
