For 55 years , 76-years-old Baburao Sitaprao, originally from the Konkan , has been running the canteen of the Parle Tilak Vidyalaya. He began around 1960 when a single batatawada used to cost 6 paise and no pav provided. Since then till now Babu Vada Pav is recognized brand in Vile Parle and around the suburb.
